Project Marrow: Entry log #17

June 26th, 1988

Study: Wishbone is tasked to track and find 12 labeled pigs with a device attached to him; monitoring his heartrate, vision and location.

Interception: regardless of the meteorologists on our base predicting otherwise, fog enveloped the location either way, and while the location and vision of the tracker would glitch and misread times, we were able to keep a largely more consistent track of his general efficiency. We also picked older pigs, in expectancy of them turning feral like last time.

Results: The task was completed after 38 minutes; Wishbone generally moving faster in dense woods or compact locations, although in the denser foliage and thicker fog the tracker would glitch and the numbers on our device would misread, at one point saying he had a heartrate of 12. Another perplexing event was when 3 of the pigs were found in the span of 4 minutes, even when one was in the safe haven and the other two were in the lighthouse. As expected, when the pigs came back they started to be aggressive amd had to be pit down, but when it did happen was a surprise, they only went feral over the span of 2 days, a week was less than average but this change was so rapid that it killed one and another one killed a completely different boar. We have been advised to stop attempting this test altogether, as it's wasteful to our food reserves, but I'd assume it doesn't matter since the new batch of subjects for Z-2 are coming in less than a month.
